BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 A.M.) – The Israeli Air Force launched their heaviest attack of the year on the Damascus countryside last night, causing several explosions that could be heard throughout the capital city.
In an attempt to thwart the Israeli attack, the Syrian military activated their air defenses, which helped down several missiles over western and eastern Damascus.
However, the large number of Israeli missiles fired from a close range proved too difficult for the Syrian military to fully thwart last night.
As shown in the nearly two-minute-long, the Syrian military engages the Israeli missiles directly in an attempt to halt the large-scale Israeli attack:
The Israeli Air Force launched this attack in response to a projectile that was fired from Syria into the occupied Golan Heights region on Sunday afternoon.
This projectile was fired shortly after the Israeli military fired nine missiles towards the western countryside of Damascus.
