BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:20 A.M.) – The Israeli Air Force launched several missiles towards the vicinity of the Damascus International Airport, tonight, prompting the Syrian military to activate their air defenses.

According to sources in Damascus, the Syrian military was able to intercept several Israeli missiles; however, some managed to reach their intended targets near the airport.

The Israeli missiles reportedly caused several explosions after they hit a munitions warehouse near the Damascus International Airport – no casualties have been reported thus far.

Below are a number of videos that were captured around Damascus last night:

It seems that Putin has again given permission to bomb Syria and does not allow the use of the S300 or ground-to-ground missile response. It is not impossible that the S300 are just wind because never an S300 has shot down a plane in real conditions. In any case, these Israeli attacks are very humiliating for the so-called russian AA defense and the “extrarordinaire” against electronic measures.

Before blabbing about S300, learn when the S300 can be used.

Actually S-300 was simply never used in combat so had simply no opportunities to shoot down anything. IMHO, S-300 were delivered only because S-200 can be slaved and since S-300 has IFF (indicator friend or Foe) so they won’t be shot at Russian aircraft : didn’t you noticed how SyADF is trigger happy and since they have great troubles copn with IDF’s ECMs, especially ghost radar echoes, they launch in every direction and missiles are in LOAL (lock on after launch) mode… In other terms, if missile’s seekers locks on anything, it goes after. Syrian S-200 are 1970 technology without… Read more »

In English, you should say “It is not impossible that the S300 are just vapour”. Actually, these aren’t but you also must 1st understand how air defences work… There is no magic-SAM and the few delivered S-300 batteries are technically able to deal with a one-squadron (18 aircraft) bombing raid (e.g. with LGBs JDAMs or iron bombs) or to go after trans-border launch of mid-range stand-off weapons, you can think about IDF’s Rampage that ranges 150km although in case of very low altitude raid, unless you have some AWACS, only very short range stuff may work and so you need… Read more »

The Syrian government said that they would respond by targeting an Israeli airport or military air base if Israel attacked one of theirs again. This is the second time since then that Israel has attacked the Damascus airport. If they do not keep their word that are, in effect, giving Israel a green light to attack Syria anytime they like without fear f reprisal.

Actually, IDF is not attacking SAA unless SAA shoots at them (as it happened many time in Golan Heights) and usually, they avoid casualties as much as possible. These attacks are targetted against Hezbollah or IRGC and are legitimate under the Hague Convention since Iran funds and arms Hezbo in order to attack Israel. There’ a rule of thumb both Egypt and Jordan have learnt the hard way and some still not have gotten in the region : as long as you dn’t fück with Israel, you won’t end in IDF’s or Mossad’s harm way. If you do so, they… Read more »
