BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:40 P.M.) – The U.S. Coalition carried out a fresh series of airstrikes over eastern Syria, today, targeting the last areas with an Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) presence.
According to reports from the Deir Ezzor Governorate, the U.S. Coalition launched a number of airstrikes over the Islamic State’s positions on the Baghouz Mountain.
The Islamic State fighters that refused to surrender to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) last week have since taken up positions in the Baghouz Mountain, where they are being targeted daily.
These airstrikes by the U.S. Coalition come just a week after U.S. President Donald Trump declared victory against the Islamic State.
The Islamic State will not be able to hold this site for long as they are likely short on provisions and manpower.
