Syrian Army seizes massive weapons cache in Homs (PHOTOS)

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:45 P.M.) – The Syrian military seized a large cache of weapons that were left behind by the jihadist rebels in the northern countryside of Homs on Thursday. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the military discovered a variety of weapons inside the weapons cache, including medium-sized machine guns, rifles, and satellite devices. The Syrian Arab Army uncovered this weapons cache while combing through the areas previously controlled by the jihadist rebels in northern Homs.

WATCH Russian fighters force US B-52 bombers change course

US and NATO planes have been regularly conducting flights close to Russia’s borders since 2014 sometimes forcing Russian jets to scramble and escort them during the flight in order to prevent airspace violations. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, a group of B-52 Stratofortress bombers approached Russia’s border in the skies over the Baltic Sea but then changed course when the Russian jets came closer. A video of the incident was released by the Russian military on Thursday. The video comes out just a day after the US Air Force command in Europe confirmed the incident, stressing that the flights serve as a demonstration of Washington’s commitment to regional security.

Russian fighter jets intercept US B-52H bomber (video)

Footage released by the Russian Ministry of Defence on Thursday shows US Air Force’s nuclear capable bomber B-52H Stratofortress over international waters of the Baltic Sea. According to the ministry, Russian airspace control detected the bomber at a considerable distance from the Russian border, and sent a pair of Su-27 fighter jets to identify and escort the US aircraft.
