BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:35 P.M.) – The Syrian and Russian forces are using intel gathered by spies within the ranks of the jihadist and Turkishbacked rebels in northwestern Syria, an officer from the 4th Armored Division told Al-Masdar News from the Hama Governorate.

According to the officer, the government spies reveal the movements and locations of militant sites throughout the Hama, Idlib, Aleppo, and Latakia governorates.

Most recently, the Russian Air Force has destroyed over ten militant sites in the Hama and Idlib governorates alone. Of the more than ten militant sites destroyed by the Russian Air Force, at least a half dozen of them were destroyed in the Hama Governorate on Thursday.

Earlier in the week, the Russian Air Force killed several militants in the Hama Governorate after learning of a Jaysh Al-Izza underground base from a local spy.

Video footage of the spy filming from the vicinity of the underground base was released by the official Facebook page of the Tiger Forces.

The officer added that the government spy network has infiltrated many of the militant camps, which has forced groups like Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Free Syrian Army to take stricter security measures.
