BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 A.M.) – The Syrian military has not completed their training on the S-300 air defense system, a source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News.

According to the source, the Syrian military is still completing their training exercises with the S-300 system, adding that the issue with using them has nothing to do with the installation process.

When asked if the installation process has been completed as the recent satellite images suggested, the military source said some work was still needed, but he would not go into specifics.

Earlier this week, the Image Sat International company posted satellite photos of three S-300 batteries that were erected in the Masyaf countryside.

On October 1st, 2018, the Russian Federation made their first delivery of the S-300 system to Syria.

Russia made the decision to deliver the S-300 to Syria after they accused Israel of using a Russian military IL-20 reconnaissance aircraft as cover during an attack on western Latakia.
