BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:40 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) was seen escorting the U.S. Armed Forces yesterday from the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate to the Iraq border.
In a video released by state-owned Al-Ikbariya TV, the Syrian Arab Army can be seen following the U.S. Armed Forces in pick-up trucks as they escort them to the Al-Hasakah Governorate’s border region with Iraq’ Al-Anbar Governorate.
The U.S. previously withdrew from the border city of Kobane (var. ‘Ayn Al-‘Arab) after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that all American troops were withdrawing the from the alleged safe zone in northern Syria.
However, the U.S. troops had only moved to the Kobane countryside before their complete withdrawal to the Iraqi border.
More U.S. troops are expected to move from northern Syria to Iraq in the coming days, as they complete their withdrawal from the border.
