BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:30 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) foiled an attempted ambush by the jihadist rebels in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate.
According to reports from northwest Hama, the Syrian Arab Army foiled a jihadist infiltration attempt near the small town of Al-Bredij.
The reports said the Syrian Arab Army managed to kill almost all of the militants before they finally aborted their mission earlier this morning.
Since the start of the Sochi agreement in mid-September 2018, the 20 kilometers deep demilitarized has witnessed little peace and increase in hostilities between the Syrian Arab Army and opposition forces.
Despite the presence of the Turkish military around this demilitarized zone, they have done little to stop the fighting as they are primarily focused on fighting the Kurdish forces in northern Syria.
