BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:50 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) targeted the provincial capital of the Idlib Governorate, yesterday, marking the first time this year that they have attacked this city.

According to a report from the Hama Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army heavily bombarded Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions in and around Idlib city with a plethora of missiles and artillery shells.

The report said the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Armored Division used surface-to-surface missiles from their MLRS launcher.

Furthermore, the Syrian Arab Army heavily bombarded the eastern countryside of the Idlib Governorate, hitting the jihadist and Turkish-backed rebel positions inside the towns of Harsh Abdeen, Sarmeen, and Habeet.

The Syrian military’s attack would last for a few hours on Tuesday and it would end prior to sundown.

Once the sun went down, the Syrian and Russian air forces emerged in the skies of the Idlib and Hama governorates, as they carried out several airstrikes over Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions.

Among the targets for the Russian and Syrian air forces was an explosives depot that belonged to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham near the town of Saraqib in northeastern Idlib.

The Russian Air Force is now active above the Idlib Governorate as they conduct reconnaissance flights over Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions.
