BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry sent two letters to the UN Secretary-General and the President of Security Council on the new Israeli attacks that took place last night.

“This aggression comes within the framework of the ongoing Israeli attempts to prolong the crisis in Syria and the terrorist war against it and to raise the morale of its agents of the remaining terrorist pockets as it is a new attempt by the Israeli government to escape its internal problems,” the Foreign Ministry began.

“Syria stresses that the continuation of Israel in its serious aggressive approach would not have been possible without the political, military and media cover provided by the US administration in the context of a state of immunity from any accountability provided by well-known states in the Security Council, which could enable Israel to continue to practice state terrorism and threat peace and security in the region and the world without any deterrent,” the ministry added in its letter.

The Israeli Air Force carried out a powerful attack near the Damascus International Airport, yesterday, striking an arms depot just outside the capital city.

Israel’s air attacks are aggressions that hamper the fight against terrorists in Syria. This is intolerable. UNSC must stop these incursions over the truce lines between Syria and Israel.

@johnny was, they are plain daft and do not understand that the Iranians are there to counter Sunni terrorists and will go soon after victory.

In fact, when did you heard about IRGC (which are NOT soldiers but Khamenei’s private militia) fighters dying?
They’re not here for advising, actually, SAA dudes have more combat experience than IRGC ones, same for Hezb : both are in far more for auto-promotion and Iran is more into smuggling weapons to Hezb than anything else.
In fact, as long as Russian help didn’t started, SAA was pretty near to be defeated, despite the IRGC/Hezb pseudo help.

@Daeshbags-Sux, for some ancient reasons, The Russian army is good at salvaging, repairing and other things. The Russians passed that on to SAA, after they engaged in Syria.. I know and I know were to find info. The training aid is one of the main Russian contributions.

The main thing about Iran’s help was that they organized militias to aid both in combat and keeping infiltrations out.

The engagement in Syria costs money. IMHO Iran will leave, when the holy sites are not endangered anymore.

p.s. As Putin put it, only the US can disregard costs. Because they live from printed money.

Sorry Stern but UNSC res 1761 orders the disarmament of Hezbollah. Since IRGC is illegally smuggling missiles to them, any UN member is entitled at enforcing UNSC decisions thus UNSC won’t stop IDF from demolishing Hezbollah or IRGC arms depots, actually, IRGC and Hezb are NOT defending Syria, they’re into a build up set to be nonetheless able to attack Israel nonetheless from Lebanon, but also from Syria. You even have Iranian brasses e.g. IRGC’s head gen.Salami who bragged about being at it. You must remember that, in Hague Convention, backing/arming/funding a foreign militia in order to wage war on… Read more »

@Daeshbags-Sux, sorry You can not run about with guns to enforce anything without UNSC giving You a mandate to do so.

As I pointed out before: United Nations Security Council resolution 497 and Resolution 242 (S/RES/242), adopted unanimously, order Israel to leave the occupied territories and declared the Israeli Golan Heights Law, which effectively annexed the Golan Heights, is “null and void.

If Your argument is valid, Iran can have arms and prepare an attack to enforce those two which come before UNSC res 1761. Period.

@Daeshbags-Sux, as You must remember also: Israel was among the Friends of Syria that violated: A/RES/2625(XXV) = Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Co-operation among States in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.

So everyone can prepare to attack Israel if Your argument about rule of force according to Hague convention without USNC mandate is right.

Le jour ou la Syrie ripostera ce sera la guerre. Car lsrael ne se contentera pas d’écrire une lettre de protestation au conseil de sécurité de l’ONU.

@Bob, Israel banks on the fact that it is spending much more on military. Syria cannot win even after this war. Israel probably has atomic weapons.

@Hunter Shilesa, Syria is in a war against US and Gulf payed bandits that wage an oil war. Do You really think someone is a coward if he does not start a second war front against a country that spends 10 times more on military? APART FROM THAT UN STATUTES PRESCRIBE THIS PROCEDURE THAT SENDS LETTERS IN CASE OF A CONFLICT.

p.s. Wars are not won with a tough lip but by weapons and they must be payed.
