BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad said on Monday that Damascus rejects all reconstruction projects being drawn up without their approval.

“There are those who tried to draw up plans for Syria’s reconstruction, both in Beirut, the Gulf, and even Brussels,” Miqdad said, as quoted by Al-Watan.

“But this doesn’t concern us because we were not partners in his situation,” he said, noting that there were programs about reconstruction, aid, and loans, but the Syrian state rejected it because it was discussed without their presence.

Syria’s reconstruction projects have already begun in several parts of the country; however, these contracts were given to Iranian, Russian, and Chinese firms.

What has Brussels do do with loans and reconstructions? Let the war mongers from the US, Turkey and the Gulf pay the damages they caused.

@Rex, the war mongers already suggested that the EU must pay for Syria’s reconstruction. But we’d gladly send them the bill.

Baathist will miss the usual incomes for hard corruption. Going from 178 to fx 170 will collapse the whole Baathist economy. And correct. You should not be part of those possible investments and become rich for our money. At least some few here will help the ones with no housing – not the ones installing extra bathtubs ans svimmingpools. As a westerner, I am for helping the SDF area only. We destroyed a lot there and those are parts of the Coalision. By that many could come home and fx produce food under no artillery fire by Assads. I wonder… Read more »

What a lovely delusional version of Syria’s situation. As a westerner, you should be completely ashamed of the death and destruction of Syria and the Syrian people by those terrorists your country’s supported and that includes the traitorous Kurds and their sometimes an ally, ISIS. The terror coalition air forces (FUKUS)are responsible for the unnecessary destruction of infrastructure, including power stations, water utilities and destruction of bridges, as well as leveling whole cities while civilians were still there, slaughtering thousands. Syria, Russia and Hezbollah (and even the Turks)did not do all this, the west did. The only ones that are… Read more »

@gzman501, can You tell me why I as a Westerner from the EU should be ashamed of US or other crimes? Tell what death and destruction of Syria and the Syrian people my country the Federal Republic of Germany has caused?

You talk like a Zionist that wants money from the Holocaust.

Maybe You as an Easterner or ibn Mashreq should be ashamed for indiscriminately slandering all Westerners.

Kurds want to be used again to take what does not belong to them and beg for handouts around the globe. You have barzaniland in Iraq to live in and show off to the world………………. Go live in that ‘paradise’

@Rex, the Kurds not the Turks and Arabs are the remnants of the original inhabitants of Anatolia and other land around that area. Turkmens and Arabs came as conquerors to take what did not belong to them.

In fact, the Syriacs were there earlier, as were Armenians.

@[email protected] I cannot call you an idiot because that insults idiots 🙂

You animal Westerns have destroyed the World and murdered millions thanks to centuries of colonisation, theft and barbaric expansion. You filthy dipsticks are no better than Turks. After all the murder and destruction your ancestors caused you feel you have the right to make decisions on matter that systemically don’t concern you? Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Even Satan (the devil) himself would be appalled and disgusted by the acts of you halfwits (aka Westerns) 😉

@George, You Easterners and ibn Mashreq have come to Spain, France and other Christian lands and Your Muslim ghazi murdered and enslaved millions and thus taught the West colonialism when the Western countries still were in the Middle Ages.

Even the Shaitan would be ashamed of what Your Ghazi taught the Crusaders.

p.s. You seem to have forgotten that Your ancestors invaded Europe and the West first. Colonialism was a bad episode in Western history. But You have a bad history also.

Actually, the only way to rebuild would be : 1.) Forcing mostly Qatar, KSA, Turkey, Iran and USA into paying war damages… Unlikely to happen, infortunately, as much as Turkey returning the Antioche (Hatay) province to Syria… Pretty strange Syria doesn’t makes a fuss about it while it’s way bigger than Golan Heights! Nevertheless, maybe Syria may obtain an ICJ ruling about war damages. 2.) Considering that damages to properties and infrastructures must be about half a trillion $, not many would be able to lease so much and surely not Russia, not even Iran… In fact, even the Yanks,… Read more »

@[email protected], what has Ba’ath party to do with corruption.
That is US slander because the US does not get the money.

And the US already suggested that the EU must pay for the reconstruction. The US firms want a second helping after they earned from the war.

EU made clear they are not going to fund an Assad dictatorship with blood on his hands. The words of the EU.
