Speaking to Reuters in Beijing, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said the ball was in the Houthis’ court as to whether peace talks would resume or not.

“What is certain, not questionable, certain, they will not be allowed to take over Yemen. Period. So the legitimate government will be defended,” al-Jubeir said refer to Hadi.

“The chance they have is to enter the political process, reach an agreement … for the benefit of all Yemenis including the Houthis,” he said.

Saudi Arabia have killed thousands in indiscriminate air raids that have targeted civilian infrastructure like hospitals and schools.

I don’t think it’s a question of not allowing the Houthis to take over Yemen, but more about talking over all of Saudi Arabia.

Houthis are a PR asset : guys in sandals with AKs defeating the super-equiped KSA army looks good… In fact, it’s more Yemeni army job and more the former commie Yemen part of the army… KSA and Yemen will turn communist in fact!
Muslims, let me laugh! 75 if not 80% of them play a part about it to avoid unplease family traditions. In mid-east, they want freedom and to live like westerners, not like bedouins!

Daeshbag, the houties are known as “the dogs of war” in the region. They have milions of weapons still from Soviet time and some new one. They are warriors. Yes the pictures with the sandles are funny, but trully the Houties are brave and fight brave without fear.

These weapons are in fact in the hands of Yemeni army, I mean the part of the former commie Yemen… I’m not saying the Houthis ain’t brave but you need serious military engineers to customise a Sa-3 into a ballistic missile and double its payload, such stuff ain’t in hands of tribesmen with their habitual AKs and Kris. There’s a REAL army fighting Hadi and the saudis AND militias like Houthis and surely some others. And I’m sure that before unifying Yemen, commies prepared serious stashes of weapons in case of… Without fear? If it was the case, they’d all… Read more »

Saudis will meet the same fate in defending Yemen as Soviet Union met in defending Afghanistan and there they met their Waterloo.

Daeshbags Sux

Daeshbags Sux

A big difference : Soviet Union faced already big internal economical problems as from Brejnev, they went really to far in armament race building really too much nukes, nuke submarines and even tanks : having about enough to simply blow about 5 times the planet in nukes has no purpose, building 65,000 tanks too… With such expenses, soviets faced empty shops, waiting all day long to get a little bread in cities… Same thing if you think US militaries lost the Vietnam war : USA public opinion didn’t supported this war and there were so huge protests that well, you… Read more »

Houthis don’t care about east Yemen; they have their sights on the much larger Shia cities in southwest Arabia. This region is historically tied to Sana’a and a much more valuable target.

Except that Comical Ali, if US neo-cons (and cons = dumbasses in french!) had listened to their elder brother, would have replaced Saddam and you wouldn’t know him as Comical Ali at all. Before he was a VERY appreciated diplomat at the UN and just go back listening to his reports, not the tactical ones which were pure propaganda bullshit, but EVERYTHING he predicted became real : Iraq’s invasion turned to be a failure, now it’s just still another shithole 13 years later!
