BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force has remained active over the Idlib Governorate, today, after launching several airstrikes last night.
According to a military source in the Hama Governorate, the Russian jets have been flying over several towns inside of Idlib, including most of the areas controlled by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
In particular, the Russian Air Force has been spotted over the southern axis of Idlib, with their fighter jets repeatedly flying over the key town of Khan Sheikhoun.
Last night, the Russian Air Force launched a number of airstrikes over northeastern Idlib, hitting a Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham explosives depot near the town of Saraqib.
Since launching those airstrikes, the Russian Air Force has remained active in northeastern Idlib, despite not launching any attacks against the jihadist rebels.
The Russian Air Force’s recent presence in the skies of Idlib come as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) prepares to launch a new offensive to clear the demilitarized zone from the jihadist and Turkish-backed rebels.
