BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:40 P.M.) – The Russian Federation has allegedly warned Israel against launching any more attacks near the Damascus International Airport, Al-Quds Al-Araby reported on Friday.

Citing Russian military officials, the London-based publication claimed that Moscow warned the Israeli forces against attacking east Damascus as they were preparing to renovate the airport.

The unnamed Russian officials also told the publication that Israeli attacks were causing problems for airlines that were hoping to resume their flights to the Damascus International Airport in the near future.

The Israeli Air Force has targeted the Damascus International Airport and several areas around it in the past, resulting in significant damage to the targeted sites.

Israel claims the targeted areas around the Damascus International Airport were an Iranian missile storage, despite denials from the government in Tehran.

“allegedly”, “unnamed Russian officials” => Dubious Al-Quds Al-Arabi means “Arab Jerusalem” and is owned by “Palestinians” The paper has a reputation for being more populist and aggressive in its defense of the Palestinian cause and by extension more confrontational toward Israel, particularly when compared to the other prominent off-shore pan-Arab dailies. => A very dubious “news” agency too that is part of #PALLYWOOD. => If it’s no BS, Russians will have to push Assad into refusing Iranian arms transfers at Damascus airport thus stopping using the civilian airport as a civilian shield. Note that military activities on a civilian airport… Read more »
