BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:50 A.M.) – The Libyan National Army (LNA), led by their commander General Khalifa Haftar, seized the largest and most important oil field in Libya this week.
Backed by heavy artillery, the Libyan National Army managed to expel the forces loyal to the Government of National Accord in several areas this week, including the largest city in southern Libya.
According to reports, the Libyan National Army seized Sabha (largest city in southern Libya, the Al-Sharara Oil Field, Ghudawwah and Um Al Aranib areas, and then the Al Wigh Airbase.
Sabha is the largest city in southern Libya, with over 100,000 people consisting mostly of different tribal entities.
With the loss of the Al-Sharara Oil Field, the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord has lost their most important source of petrol in the country.
