BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) has suffered heavy losses over the last 48 hours, as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to push into their last enclave in the eastern region of the Euphrates River Valley.

According to a military report from eastern Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Democratic Forces have killed 38 Islamic State fighters since they resumed their offensive near the Baghouz Camp.

The report said that the Syrian Democratic Forces have only suffered three casualties during this operation.

In regards to the accusations of heavy civilian losses, the U.S. Coalition’s spokesperson Sean Ryan said that there is no evidence of civilian casualties in Baghouz.

The accusations of civilian casualties at the Baghouz Camp came from the Syrian government and opposition; they claimed more than 50 civilians were killed during the U.S. Coalition’s attack on this ISIS enclave on Monday.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
