Aramco

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – A new video released by Sky News Arabia showed the recent destruction of the Saudi Aramco facility in Khurais after it was hit by Houthi drones.

A Sky News reporter at the scene said the engineering teams were working around the clock to ensure the Khurais station continued to operate.

The Ansarallah group, also called the Houthi forces, which is fighting a Saudi-led military alliance, has claimed responsibility for the attack on the two oil sites in Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest oil processing plant (Aramco).

US and Saudi officials dismissed the claim and said the attack did not come from the south, which would indicate the strikes came from Yemen.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo described the weekend attack as an act of war and was considering a possible response with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf allies.

Speaking cautiously on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump said there were many options other than war with Iran, which denies involvement in the September 14 attacks that initially cut the Saudi production in half.

In response, however, Trump has ordered more sanctions on Iran.

In the videos about the attack on the Saudi oil facility, on one of the damaged cruise missile casings you can clearly see the NATO weapons code and number MC 79050. This rocket engine is manufactured by NATO member Czech Republic military rocket producer PBS. (check it!) Why would Iran or the Houtis use NATO rocket engines for their cruise missiles?

It is not a rocket engine! PBS does NOT make rocket engines, they make small turboprop and turbofans. You want a turboprop running on cheap kerosene rather than expensive AvGas (which is not available everywhere) or you want a turbojet for your DIY Rutan Long-EZ? Call PBS, they’re much cheaper than Garrett, Honeywell, GE/Honda… In fact, it’s a small turbojet engine available for CIVILIAN MARKET used on the very light/micro jets category of aircraft, you can even buy such aircraft as DIY kits to minimise costs (you can end with your personal jet for as cheap as $150k+300h work) https://www.sonexaircraft.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/SubSonex_Kitplanes_2015.pdf… Read more »

Ok. You are right, it’s a casing for a turbine engine for unmaned aircrafts (as is a drone or a cruise missile).
I think the engine is this: PBS TJ100 Turbojet Engine.

And also for manned aircraft, the one I posted the picture is even sold as a kit for $130k! IT IS the 1.3kN TJ100 The 1.5kN TJ150 would have allowed smth with more payload or range https://www.pbs.cz/en/nase-podnikani/letectvi/letecke-motory/proudovy-motor-pbs-tj150 Oh, BTW, our Iranian friends seem to produce a TJ-100 copy Well, I suppose that with the nice Aramco advertising, PBS will sue Iran at the WTO? Seems that the Iranian version of the missile may have a different [bigger] engine: Seems that Quds-1 is finally much smaller than Soumar : Soumar/Kh-55 has 51.4cm diameter while : Any way, it makes a launch… Read more »

My mistake, in Dutch language there is no clear distinction between a rocket and a missile. But: you can buy the PBS TJ100 engine in Czech Republic. The code MC-79050 (and MC-79055) is an US code (also used in other NATO countries) for a weapons system (mobile, radar jamming), that you can’t buy as a private citizen and it must be dificult to buy for Iran or the Houtis. It must be easy to find out which countries it is sold to (serial numbers). I found on the internet that people in Kuwait have seen a fleet of aircrafts flying… Read more »

Oh, you know, you can privately buy it (and more powerful engines) on the civilian market, or how could you get it for your kit aircraft or to mount it on the back of a sailplane? In fact, the MC code would mean that you can’t re-export it from the US w.o DoD greenlight, in the same range, in US states where owning a body armour is OK for citizens, you can buy one privately, BUT no way you can re-sell it abroad w.o. DoD approval. When you know how many tons of cocaine or hash Hezbollah manages to import in… Read more »

The code MC-79050 is JETDS code (Joint Army-Navy Nomenclature System), used by NATO for weapons. see:

Hadn’t I pointed the engine being used for target drones too?
Guess who are the main clients? Maybe some… NATO countries? 😉
Such things are called dual-use products

And you can totally use it to convert a glider into a jet !!!

Gorgeous! No need for aircraft towing or 1100m cable to take off, and it’s way more compact than the habitual Rotax on motorgliders.
My 2c you can reach freaking altitude… Baby U-2

The fact that nobody died or injured shows the facility has blown up at espacific care and time so it could be done by Saudi or US as well

None uses Kh-55 copies, moreover, the use of the small Czech engine (most powerful model is 150kg thrust, Kh-55 has 400kgp) means a costly study to subsequently highly reduce the weight as Kh-55 is 1,650-2,450kg. => using lighter materials like carbon-fiber, smaller warhead, less fuel. This study has been done by Iran, neither by USA nor Russia. Even developing a missile on the cheap this way (you don’t need all aerodynamic studies) already costs very big, way too much to produce just a dozen missiles for a false-flag! Since Iran has real Kh-55 too, you’d have it much easier to… Read more »

Crotale is efficient at intercepting sea-skimming anti-ship missiles or rockets (Iron Dome style). 90% hit with a single missile, 99% with 2. Saudi Arabia has blockaded Yemen, preventing humanitarian aid, causing millions of civilians to be at risk of starvation and disease–in order to steal that countries oil supply.

No, they even send humanitarian help too! UN openly accuse Houthis of stealing an average 60-70% of humanitarian help, thus causing both famine and cholera. And considering how Houthis deal with trash-disposal in Sa’ana : No surprise if there is a cholera epidemic : the water supply must be touched too! Yemen is not at all known as an oil producer. The only interest Yemen may have is geo-strategic for Iran’s Shia-crescent plot : Remember Shia are only 15% of Yemen’s population and Houthis are Iran’s proxies. They’re the ones who started this war. Interest of Yemen : 1. Being… Read more »

Why you are worry about food when Saudi bombs and kill million of innocent Yemen people.

The conflict is an ultra-low intensity one. War casualties are more into the 10-15k ranges (both sides) while 80,000-85,000 died by starvation, mainly children. The effect of cholera (transmitted by faeces ending in the “drinkable” water) are hard to evaluate. Also note that 2 years ago, both UN and NGOs stated that the third of Houthi fighters were child soldiers, e.g. the bus bombed by RSAF which killed around 30 kids was a child-soldiers bus. It seems to have aggravated : the latest Saudi air-strike on a Houthi base killed 13. 8 were children! On the number of UN registered… Read more »
