BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – A new video released by Sky News Arabia showed the recent destruction of the Saudi Aramco facility in Khurais after it was hit by Houthi drones.
A Sky News reporter at the scene said the engineering teams were working around the clock to ensure the Khurais station continued to operate.
The Ansarallah group, also called the Houthi forces, which is fighting a Saudi-led military alliance, has claimed responsibility for the attack on the two oil sites in Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest oil processing plant (Aramco).
US and Saudi officials dismissed the claim and said the attack did not come from the south, which would indicate the strikes came from Yemen.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo described the weekend attack as an act of war and was considering a possible response with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf allies.
Speaking cautiously on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump said there were many options other than war with Iran, which denies involvement in the September 14 attacks that initially cut the Saudi production in half.
In response, however, Trump has ordered more sanctions on Iran.
