BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:20 A.M.) – The Israeli Air Force has been flying low altitude flights along the Syrian border this morning, prompting the Syrian air defense units to raise their alert levels in Damascus.

According to a source in Damascus, the Israeli warplanes were spotted over the Jabal Al-Sheikh (Mount Hermon) region of eastern Lebanon, which is where they usually enter when they bomb southwestern Syria.

These border flights by the Israeli Air Force come just a week after they heavily bombarded Syria’s Aleppo Governorate.

The Israeli Air Force bombed several areas in the Aleppo Governorate last Wednesday, causing considerable damage to the Sheikh Najjar District and Nayrab Airbase.

In addition to their Syrian border flight, the Israeli Air Force was also spotted flying over several other areas in southern Lebanon this morning, including the Nabatieh and South governorates.

The Nabatieh Governorate is where Hezbollah is believed to have its largest presence in Lebanon and the South Governorate is home to several Palestinian factions around the coastal city of Saida (Sidon).
