An undated handout photo distributed by Syrian News Agency (SANA) on July 9, 2012 shows a missile being launched from a mobile platform during a live ammunitions exercise by Syrian air defence forces in an undisclosed location.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:35 A.M.) – Israel has begun jamming the Syrian air defenses due to their alleged poor missile success rate in Syria, the Russian website Aria Pro claimed on Sunday.

According to the Russian publication, only 30-40 percent of the Israeli missiles have managed to hit their recent targets in Syria.

The Israeli military’s decision to jam the Syrian air defenses is nothing new; they have done this on a number of occasions in the past.

Furthermore, despite these claims, the satellite images that were released after the recent Israeli attacks on Tal Al-Harra in Daraa and the T-4 Airbase in Homs showed the effectiveness of their missiles, as the targeted sites were destroyed by these projectiles.

Since June 1st, the Israeli military has attacked the Syrian Armed Forces on three occasions, with the most encounter taking place at the hilltop town of Tal Al-Harra.

The Israeli target at Tal Al-Harra was a Syrian military base that was allegedly used as an observation post near the occupied Golan Heights region.

Never, Syria is afraid to do so. The only action that Syria has taken and will take is to defense as much as possible, that is all.

Majid : 1.) Remember that Hague Convention says that using proxy militias to wage war against a country is equivalent at directly declaring war. Thus, Hezbollah and IRGC are fair game for IDF no matter where they are. Syrian militaries can be happy that IDF doesn’t shoots at them unless being shot at first. 2.) Israelis mostly target IRGC => Hezbollah illegal arms transfers, and these are illegal under the 2006 UNSC Resolution 1701. Any UN member is entitled at enforcing Res.1701. If Syrian military come under IDF fire, it’s by trying to interpose by shooting at IDF. 3.) Syria… Read more »

The fact you have this much time to write up such propaganda shows what you’re worth. Do you get paid to write all this nonsense or are you actually braindead enough to do it for free?

Woww. It’s amazing how accurate you are in quoting the Un charters. I guess Israel is only walking by the rules. Why not follow them all.!?

Israel and USA have launched more than 300 cruise missile and nothing have happened due to Pantsir and Buk system!…we have seen what happened in Irak, Serbia, Libia when USA launched that ammount of cruise missile… half of the infraestructure and military assets of these countries have been destroyed!..one example USA launched 76 cruise missile vs Barzeh complex…. USA launched 20 cruise missile vs Mujabarat HQ in Bagdad…the complex was destroyed and was 2 times bigger than Barzeh!..so Russian systems work well….another example if USA launched 107 cruise missile vs 3 targets…they will need 1007 to destroy 10 like them…beside… Read more »

My views exactly. Concentrated, layered, specialized point-defense against cruise-type assets is becoming more and more commonplace both in tech and doctrine. The Chinese have also made great strides in achieving layered protected in low to very-low level engagement, and the Iranian have inherited that big time as well and can now boast of complexe and largely automated IADS able to function both in network-centric mode and independent, with serious system redundancy, and they keep on producing assets in that regard, taking advantage of peace-time in their country, sanctions being totally ineffective at hurting the closed military budget anyway. Herz-9 (aka… Read more »

Sorry, but Russians are over-hyping in order to find clients. They first advertised Pantsir as undefeatable, then it was defeated. Now they say only 30-40% goes through… Well, did they counted the interceptions and the hits, they’d be more precise. Most of “interceptions” shown on AMN are not interception : count the time between the launch and the blast, you’ll be compelled noticing it’s ALWAYS the same time, and for good reason : once the missile runs out of fuel, it self destroys to avoid as much as possible ending falling on a house, etc. Russia deployed Pantsirs in Hmeimim,… Read more »

As always Douchebag, questionning hard facrs with the same fake arguments looping in a broken record.Against Syria, Israel never has to face a credible fully-fledged IADS encompassing every flight profile and assets that they have. It is simply a fantastically unequal and unfair fight every time and Tsahal commanders knows it full well. Those Tors,Pantsyrs and even lid-range Buks are not even designed to work exclusively in solo mode, but in tandem with longer-ranged s-300/400s. The only thing that saves the iDF from utter failure every time they do pinprick attacks like this and scoring a few hits here and… Read more »

You live in the past. this is only true with legacy, frequency unagile primitive 80s-era Iraqi systems manned by untrained and demoaized staff runni goff theur post with the systems emitting idle with full force. You live in the past. Ypu can’t white-jam agile complex polymorphic waveform AESAs radars with dummy emission aptitude geared by dedicated algorithms and powerful electronics and CPU. Good luck getting a stable lock on a modern s-400 radars with HOJs ability and its supporting hunter-killer Mig-31 squads tearing apart your prowler-like planes,JSTARS and AWACS with very-long-range ramjet hypersonic AAMs while you try to secure one… Read more »
