DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:00 A.M)- The Gaza Strip is under attack by Israeli warplanes following the murder of a 15 year old child.
Late Wednesday night, Israeli forces killed 15 year old, Said Abu Zaid, injuring 4 others who were taking part in night time demonstrations in Gaza’s East.
Following the Israeli attack upon the night protestors, sirens went off in Ashkelon, sparking outrage amongst Israeli citizens. No armed faction claimed the alleged rocket fired, however a public statement was made by Hamas, stating that Israeli aggression wouldn’t be tolerated.
Israel has so far reportedly bombed four locations in Khan Yunis (Southern Gaza). Reports of deaths and injuries are yet to emerge.
If the rocket reportedly fired at Israel was the doing of a Palestinian armed group, it would be the first time that any group has responded to Israeli aggression since the 22nd of January.
On the 22nd of January, following the murder of a Palestinian man in Gaza, a sniper belonging to the Izz Ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas armed wing) shot an Israeli sniper in the helmet injuring him.
Since then Israel has launched the following unprovoked attacks on Gaza, all of which were not responded to:
-6th February, airstrikes struck Eastern Rafah.
-17th February, artillery strikes struck Northern Gaza reportedly near Beit Hanoun.
-27th February, 7 missiles were fired into Eastern khan Yunis.
-2nd March, Eastern Rafah was struck with multiple airstrikes.
-3rd March, East of Beit Hanoun was fired upon by Israeli drones.
-4th March, Deir Al-Balah and Khan Yunis were struck with a total of six Israeli rockets.
-5th March, multiple airstrikes were recorded near Gaza City.
Only tonight has there been a single rocket reportedly fired.
