BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:00 A.M.) – The commander of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ (IRGC) Aerospace Forces Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said on Thursday that several US aircraft that were constantly monitored flying over Syria and Iraq were under his group’s control.
According to Hajzadeh, the IRGC allegedly penetrated the U.S.’ command center in Syria; thus, allowing them to gain access to these drones.
“Seven to eight drones that had constant flights over Syria and Iraq were brought under our control and their intel was monitored by us and we could gain their first-hand intel,” General Hajizadeh said in the western Iranian city of Hamedan on Thursday, as quoted by the Fars News Agency.
The footage below shows a US flying drone malfunctioning and eventually crashing some 10 kilometers away from their military base.
The footage also displays the IRGC’s penetration into the U.S. drone’s system.
The U.S. Air Force later bombed the aircraft in order to prevent the Iranian-backed forces from taking hold of the aircraft.
The U.S. has not commented on these claims by the IRGC.
