BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 P.M.) – The Iraqi-led Hashd Al-Shaabi forces fended off a powerful attack by the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) on Sunday after the latter attempted to storm their points along the Syrian border.
According to the official media wing of Hashd Al-Shaabi, their forces confronted a small Islamic State group that was attempting to capture some of their points near the border city of Al-Qa’im in the western part of the Al-Anbar Governorate.
Hashd Al-Shaabi managed to foil the terrorist attack along the Syrian border, killing and wounding all of the members of the Islamic State.
This latest attack by the Islamic State comes just hours after they lost more territory to the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the eastern Euphrates region.
