BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:40 A.M.) – French officials have allegedly warned Lebanon that Israel is planning a possible attack on a Hezbollah missile factory, Al-Hayat newspaper reported this weekend.
Citing Arab sources, Al-Hayat said the French officals warned Lebanon over the ‘dangerous’ information Israel was providing the United States.
The French officials allegedly said Israel was planning to strike one of Hezbollah’s alleged guided missile factories inside the small Levantine nation.
They warned the Lebanese government that Israel would not remain idle while Hezbollah, with support from Iran, continues to manufacture these missiles.
These claims by the French officials echo U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s warning to Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri last week.
Pompeo allegedly warned Hariri that Hezbollah and Iran have setup a secret missile factory inside Lebanon.
He told the Lebanese premier that the presence of this missile factory will not be tolerated by Israel.
Last year, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released several photos of an alleged Hezbollah missile factory that was located in southern Beirut.
Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah would later deny the claim by the Israeli premier.
