La 66ª Brigada de LA 11ª División de Tanques del Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS) -respaldada por las Fuerzas de Defensa Nacional- continuó su avance a gran escala a lo largo del corazón del territorio del Estado Islámico de Irak y Levante (ISIS) este lunes, liberando varios puntos alrededor de la villa de Abu Hanaya en el campo del este de Hama.

Junto con su avance hacia Abu Hanaya, las Fuerzas Armadas Sirias presionaron hacia la esencial villa de Sheikh Hilal, donde han estado experimentando violentos ataques de parte de los terroristas recientemente.

Quizás la mayor sorpresa del lunes fue que el EAS atacó las defensas de ISIS a lo largo de la autopista de Salamiyah-Raqqa, resultando en la muerte de una docena de terroristas y la destrucción de tres camionetas montadas con ametralladoras anti-aéreas.

De acuerdo a una fuente militar ubicada en la cercana ciudad de al-Salamiyah, las Fuerzas Armadas Sirias están actualmente presionando hacia el “corazón” del ISIS, avanzando a lo largo de tres ejes distintos por primera vez desde el inicio de este brutal conflicto.

La meta central es capturar el punto fuerte de ISIS en ‘Aqayrbat para retomar la autopista entre Palmira y Hama que es utilizada por el grupo terrorista para hacer estragos al interior del distrito de al-Salamiyah.
