BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:40 P.M.) – The Israeli Air Force was spotted flying over the Jabal Sheikh (Mount Hermon) region of eastern Lebanon this afternoon, a military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News.
According to the source, the Israeli warplanes were tracked flying from Lebanon’s Nabatieh Governorate to the Jabal Sheikh region near the Syrian border.
The Israeli warplanes did not enter Syrian airspace; however, they have raised the alert levels in Damascus as the Israeli Air Force often uses this flight path to bomb sites near the Syrian capital.
The source added that the Israeli warplanes are still flying over the Golan Heights-Jabal Sheikh axis at this time.
Earlier this month, the Israeli military targeted the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions inside the Al-Quneitra Governorate; this resulted in the destruction of three different sites, including a military garrison near the border of the occupied Golan Heights.
