BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 P.M.) – Minutes ago, several Israeli warplanes were spotted near the Lebanese-Syrian border, prompting the Syrian military to raise their alert levels.
According to a source in Damascus, the Syrian military spotted at least eight Israeli warplanes in the Jabal Sheikh (Mount Hermon) region of southeast Lebanon.
The source said that the Israeli Air Force was flying low altitude flights along the border, but they did not enter Syrian airspace as of yet.
This latest border flight by the Israeli Air Force comes nearly 24 hours after they launched a heavy attack on the Damascus countryside.
The Israeli attack ultimately resulted in the destruction of several military sites in rural Damascus and Al-Sweida, while also killing at least four soldiers in the process.
